About
Reiki is a form of alternative therapy that originated in Japan in the early 20th century. The word Reiki is derived from two Japanese words - ‘rei’, meaning universal life force or spiritual energy, and ‘ki’ meaning energy or chi. Reiki is based on the principle that there is a universal energy that flows through all living things, and this energy can be harnessed to promote healing and balance in the body.
During a Reiki session, the recipient lies down fully clothed while the practitioner places their hands on or near different parts of the body in a specific sequence. This is done to channel the energy and help the recipient to release any blockages and balance their energy flow. The energy is said to help promote relaxation, reduce stress, alleviate pain, and boost the
immune system. It is widely accepted as a form of complementary therapy in many hospitals and wellness centers. Reiki is considered safe and non-invasive.
